The mark of a new year is the perfect time to ensure your estate plan is up to date. In addition to providing the peace of mind of knowing your final wishes will be legally documented, an estate plan provides a roadmap for your loved ones to know how to care for you if you are no longer able to care for yourself and/or your financial and legal obligations.

January 29th | CREATING A STRONG ESTATE PLAN

Town Hall Green Room @ 1PM

In this session, Madison-based estate planning and elder law attorney Erin Duques will explain estate planning documents like Wills, powers of attorney, advance directives, and trusts, and the purpose and powers included in each. Furthermore, she’ll discuss what happens if you don’t have a Will when you pass away, how your estate gets divided amongst your heirs, who can pay your bills if you can’t, how to choose your power of attorney and health care agents, and some common estate planning mistakes that you will want to avoid. Even if you have already created an estate plan and/or previously came to one of our seminars with Erin, you may discover it's a good time to have your existing documents reviewed and updated.
