Come in out of the cold and join us on the courts and gyms for tennis fun all month long. Children age 6-12 and their families can play together at three YMCA's with fun tennis activities on Sunday afternoons; middle and high school players join Bitrus Istafanus on the indoor courts at the Western Rockingham YMCA on Saturdays in January; Executive Director Shelby Rhyne travels the county to "talk tennis"; and experienced youth tennis players from across the Triad area come to Mayodan for a sanctioned USTA tournament.

Free Family Tennis Play Day
Come in out of the cold and join us on Sunday afternoons for FREE Family Tennis Festivals and Play Days INSIDE at the Western Rockingham YMCA, Eden Family YMCA and Reidsville Family YMCA. Enjoy fun tennis games and opportunities to play together as a family. No experience necessary.  All equipment provided.

YCAMP:  FREE On-Court Clinics for Middle and High School Players
Middle School and High School tennis players are invited to join teaching professional Bitrus Istafanus on the indoor courts at the Western Rockingahm YMCA on Saturdays in January and early February.  Boys and Girls are welcome. WR YMCA is located at 600 S. 5th Avenue Mayodan, NC 27027

Meet Shelby Rhyne, RCTA Executive Director, to "talk tennis" 
at the Eden and Reidsville Family YMCAs and WR and Holmes Middle Schools
We're pleased to announce that we have formed Rockingham County Tennis Association (RCTA), a USTA Community Tennis Association and 501c3 nonprofit, to promote tennis in Rockingham County and make programs accessible to everyone.  

In January, Shelby Rhyne will host an information table to "talk tennis" during youth basketball and indoor soccer games around the county. Find out more information about winter and summer tennis programs for youth and adults on:

Barry Dodson CPA - Junior Indoor Challenge - January 31-February 1
The Western Rockingham YMCA hosts the Barry Dodson - CPA Junior Indoor Challenge, a sanctioned USTA junior tennis tournament on Friday January 30 - Sunday February 4.  

This level 4 USTA sanctioned event attracts boys and girls in the 12s and 14s from the Triad area and Virginia for competitive singles matches on two indoor courts.  

Visitors are welcome.  Drop by and follow the action from court-side bleachers. To see the registration and tournament draw click here.  P.s.  Tennis protocol is to wait for the point or game to finish before walking in or out to the bleachers.
