It Takes a (Tiny) Village

When Tiny’s dad fell on hard times and lost his housing, he reached out for help to make sure Tiny stayed healthy and happy. Through the city’s Animal Services Assistance Program (ASAP), Tiny was able to see a veterinarian the very same day and left with a clean bill of health. ASAP is funded by a grant from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.

Looking for FREE summer fun for your incoming 6th of 7th grader in 2026? YELC is a free, immersive summer program where campers will connect with nature, learn about human impacts on the environment, and discover the many career opportunities that make a difference, while participating in hands-on activities. The city, in partnership with the Sacramento Tree Foundation, provides all Rancho Cordova residents with up to 10 free shade trees.


The City of Rancho Cordova also has free a Stump Removal and Replacement Program that can help you remove tree stumps and find free replacement trees.

Growing Healthy Habits


On Friday, December 5, Soil Born Farms joined forces with Folsom Cordova Unified School District’s Nutrition Services Department, Cordova High School’s Future Farmers of America Agriculture Academy, and Cordova Gardens Elementary School to celebrate the Broccoli Buddies Project. This hands-on program, supported by the city’s Community Enhancement & Investment Fund, introduces students to the importance of local agriculture and healthy eating.

Free Pet Vaccine & Microchip Clinics Return in 2026


The City of Rancho Cordova Animal Services Division is offering free drive-thru rabies vaccines and microchips for pets belonging to Rancho Cordova residents throughout 2026. Appointments are required and open two weeks prior to each clinic date. Clinics are held from 8 AM - 12 PM at Neighborhood Services, 2880 Gold Tailings Court.

Animal Services Welcomes Item Donations


Help lost, stray and wild animals stay safe and comfortable while in care by donating clean towels or blankets and new pet items to the city's Animal Services Division. Drop off donations during business hours at 2880 Gold Tailings Court, or purchase and donate supplies online.

Public Safety

Applications for RCPD's Spring 2026 Citizen's Academy Now Open 


The 11-week program introduces residents to the various resources RCPD utilizes to protect our neighborhoods and communities. Academy participants will learn about the divisions of RCPD, laws of arrest, patrol procedures, investigations, and other topics. The Spring 2026 academy will be held on Tuesdays beginning March 10, 2026, through May 19, 2026, from 6 PM to 8 PM.

Dive into learning all about Metro Fire in 2026! Citizens Academy begins Wednesday, February 4 and for 10 weeks this course will engage and educate community members on Metro Fire’s emergency response, including Fire & Rescue Ops, Water Rescue, Haz Mat, Emergency Medical Services, Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) Training, Safety, Special Operations, and more!

New 2026 Dates: Sensory Friendly Play at the Sacramento Children's Museum Announces


Sensory Friendly Play, a fully accessible, low-cost program for children with special or sensory needs, is now the first Monday of the month from 10 – 11:30 AM. These 90-minute play sessions include modified open play and special programming that now includes movement and STEM. The session is $3 per person.

Join the Rancho Cordova Library for stories and activities designed for children using or learning to use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). This program will take place on the first Saturday of the month at 11 AM. Families and caregivers are invited to participate with their children to meet others and play together.
