January SAC Meeting Recap

Hello Workshop families and community! We will begin sharing the slides and notes from our monthly School Advisory Council meetings for those who may be unable to make them. Just a reminder, these meetings are every second Tuesday of the month from 4:30-5:30pm. Our next meeting will be Tuesday February 11th via Zoom, we hope to see there!

NOTES FROM THE LAST MEETING (1/14):

What are some of the barriers to student success that exist within the school community?

• Quality of lunches
• Dismissal procedure/safety
• What's already happening: faculty and staff are in the area during dismissal, climate staff does lap around building following dismissal, in close communication with PPD
• Amount of field trips per year, may want more
• This is dependent on grade and advisory

What are the possible solutions to the barriers discussed?

• Will be installing vending machines in school
• Can increase the communication about any instances that occurs after school can also be addressed by the school
• Communication/partnership with SEPTA police

How can the 1% Title I Parent set-aside help address these needs?

• Chat and chew
• CPR certification (parents & students)
