2021-2022 Academic Advising Information for
Rising 9th-12th Grade
Dear Black Knight Families and Future Black Knights:

It is hard to believe that the end of the first semester is near and it's time to begin thinking about the courses you plan to take next year. During the academic advising process, teachers will enter course recommendations, counselors will give an overview of course offerings to students and one-on-one individual meetings with students and parents to finalize courses will take place.

Parents, we welcome your participation in the academic advising process along with your student. To sign-up for a 15 minute meeting with your student's counselor please sign-up for an appointment below
Academic Advising Timeline

January 14th-January 22nd: Teachers will enter recommendations for students. It is important for students to speak with their teachers about which classes they are recommending.

January 28th & February 2nd: Grade level specific academic advising lessons from counselors to students to discuss the process and course selections.

February 5th: Virtual Curriculum Fair: Open to rising 9th-12th grade students and families. This fair will give students and families an opportunity to learn more about course offerings at CHS.

February 8th-March 19th: Individual meetings with counselors will take place with students & families to select courses for the upcoming school year.

Your school counseling staff wants to wish you a happy new year and remind you that we are here to serve. We know that this message may find some of you well, while for others you are struggling in ways that you have never encountered before. Isolation, financial hardship, and the challenges of online learning all contributed to making this a very difficult school year for students and their families alike. Many students have reported that Zoom sessions or phone calls with their school counselors have felt productive and hopeful. Sometimes, it's just useful to talk to someone outside of your home so on behalf of our counseling team we look forward to continuing to help serve and meet your needs.  Families, if you have a need please do not hesitate to reach out to your school counselor via phone, text or email.
