January Staff Spotlight
This school year, we began recognizing the extraordinary, hardworking staff members who have gone above and beyond.

In January, we recognized our maintenance crew. Thank you to Supervisor Casey Rainier, Dan Boyer, Derrick Darfus, Joe Harding, Nathan Henderson, Ken Muck, Brad Roush, Mike Tipple, Tim Venrick and Donald Welsh.

These individuals play a vital role in improving the overall atmosphere of our schools by giving students a neat and orderly environment to thrive in. Especially during the winter months, they are known as Snow Warriors on inclement weather days as they ensure the school grounds are safe and clear.

We appreciate their commitment and expertise every day!
Thomas Ewing Junior High School Achieves LEED Green Building Certification
Thomas Ewing Junior High recently earned the LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Certification by the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission. Ohio is the worldwide leader in the design and construction of environment-friendly schools, and Thomas Ewing Junior High is now alongside 382 total Ohio schools with this certification.

“The school district as a whole is immensely proud of this achievement,” said Nathan Hale, LCS Superintendent. “Our goal is to not only provide safe facilities for our students and staff but also to be a leader in adopting energy-efficient alternatives for a better, healthier community. As we continue to make progress on our new high school, our leadership team and design experts have prioritized energy efficiency, and we look forward to seeing more of our schools earn this certification.”
