Water Usage: How Low Can You Go?
According to the EPA, the average restroom faucet uses 2.2 gallons of water per minute. Throw in energy needed to heat the water, and it all adds up.

Want to reduce water usage in restrooms or hand wash stations? For remodels or new construction, look for touchless or low flow faucets. Those that earn the WaterSense label can reduce water flow by 30%. Reduce flow on existing faucets with new aerators.
Retailers Sponsor Eco-Friendly Holiday Drives
Current pandemic restrictions limit eco-friendly community outreach opportunities, so we love it when we see retailers safely continuing these activities. Retailers in Texas and Connecticut held trash pickups this fall, and recently Mark Miller Subaru and Subaru Las Vegas sponsored holiday recycling drives.

Subaru of Las Vegas sponsored a Christmas tree recycle drive. Donated trees were turned into mulch for local parks.

Mark Miller Subaru stepped up its 2020 wrapping paper recycling drive with a giveaway. Participants could drop off recycling and scan a QR code to enter to win a staycation getaway.
Black Roof, White Roof, What's the Difference?
Roof color can make a big impact on heating and cooling costs. Conventional dark roofs can reach temperatures up to 150 degrees during the summer, causing things to heat up inside as well. White roofs, or cool roofs, reflect rather than absorb sunlight. Reflective white coating can be used in new construction or added to existing buildings.
