FROM THE INTERIM PASTOR

January 2023

My New Year’s wish for Trinity Church is that you and I fully embrace the eternal truth the late South African Anglican Archbishop Desmond Tutu shared in his book, God Has a Dream:

Someone has said: ‘There is nothing you can do to make God love you more, for God already loves you perfectly and totally.’

‘But more wonderfully, there is nothing you can do to make God love you less – absolutely nothing, for God already loves you and will love you forever.’

With every good wish for a blessed and bright 2023.

Will

THANK YOU FROM THE INTERIM PASTOR

“In normal life we hardly realize how much more we receive than we give, and life cannot be rich without such gratitude. It is so easy to overestimate the importance of our own achievements compared with what we owe to the help of others.”

--Dietrich Bonhoeffer, 20th century Christian theologian

Thank you to the people of Trinity Church for the kindness and generosity you have shown me, especially during the Advent and Christmas season. I sincerely appreciate it.

Blessings

Rev. Will Seals

FROM OUR MUSIC DIRECTOR

Hello Trinity Church Community!

This past Christmas Season was a great experience for myself, and I hope it was for many of you! In addition to the wonderful special music presentations and the hilariously fun “Flip the Script” Pageant, many musicians and volunteers came together for a night of beautiful music. The 2022 Lesson & Carols service was a wonderful presentation of what the Trinity Church Music Ministry has to offer its community. Music is a gift from God, given for all to share! Thank you to all of the performers, volunteers, and audience members for being a part of this event!

For the groups that performed, take a well-deserved break from weekly rehearsals. Hand Bell Choir and Voice Choir will resume their weekly meetings after a few weeks to begin their preparations for the Lent & Easter Seasons. Keep a look out for updates on the first rehearsals back from Tom or myself.

January also comes with a 5th Sunday, which has become one of my favorite new traditions at Trinity: 5th SUNDAY SINGING! Mark your calendars so you won’t miss out. If you have any requests for this month’s line-up, send them my way by email or by filling out a Hymn Request Form during Coffee Hour Fellowship on Sundays.

Looking into the New Year, I hope you might consider joining one of our music ministry groups: Adult Voice Choir, Hand Bell Choir, Worship Band, Worship Planning Team, & Volunteering for Worship. If you have any questions about these groups, you can reach out to me via email ([email protected]).

May the New Year bring you many blessings and may we grow in generosity, kindness and forgiveness, hope, faith and love!

Until We Meet Again,

Scott Arnold (he/him)

Trinity Church of Northborough

FROM OUR CE DIRECTOR

It has been wonderful to see kids signing up for our programs! We will continue next month by sharing children's time during our church service.

Our Community A.C.T.S group is hard at work! They are now working on their next project to help our local community with Period Poverty.

1 in 5 students in the US do not have access to period products on a monthly basis.4 out of 5 of those students miss school because of their lack of access to these products.

Our Goal: to raise $5,000 by 1/31/23 and be able to help 500 students.

Some of these these donations will be given to the Northborough Schools, Northborough Food Pantry and the Northborough Library.

Here is how you can help:

  • Sponsor a kit(s) for just $10 per kit (includes reusable pouch, pads, tampons and panty liners that are organic cotton and/or biodegradable)

  • Help spread the word on social media

Please go to our fundraising page https://northboroperiodpalooza.causevox.com// and contribute and then share with your friends and family! Even donating a small amount can make a big difference!

We flipped the script on our Christmas pageant this year and our adults that volunteered to have some fun were fantastic! A BIG thank you to everyone who helped out!

After a 3 year hiatus due to Covid the Faith Fair came. It was a wonderful afternoon spent with 8 different houses of worship in our area and visitors from the community.

We need your help! In order to run a variety of programming for our youth we need volunteers. Do you enjoy being around our littlest members, love to dig in and make a difference in the community or have interest in being a sub for our sexual health class? Is it more your speed to help decorate the trinity altar as part of our new altar scaping or telling a story during our childrens moment? Please reach out to Sherry at [email protected] or 508-254-2217.

If you haven't been to one of our Bible studies before, this is a "not-your-grandma's" Bible study. Try us out for some spirited discussion and lots of laughs. Mondays at 1pm on Zoom. Contact the church office or Jean Leif at [email protected].
