Before I begin, let me wish you a Happy New Year!
As I write this note to you in the waning days of 2023, I am thankful for the wondrous Advent and Christmas we had in December.
From the joyful Lessons & Carols service to the moving and contemplative Service of Light, to the celebratory morning and evening Christmas Eve services, we prepared for and welcomed the birth of Jesus in a special way.
Thanks to Jean Leif and the Worship Team; to Scott Arnold, our Music Director; to our readers and candle lighters, choristers and bell choir, ushers and video team; to the Deacons and WISE Team; and to Rita, our Administrative Assistant – thanks to everyone for helping make our worship services meaningful. Your planning and participation made it all possible.
And, on a personal note, thank you for showing me your love through your generosity. I am thankful for the gifts I have received from you, especially at Christmastime.
As we prepare to begin a new year as Trinity Church, getting ready for the Annual Meeting on January 28th, and as we continue following God’s lead during this season of discernment, let us go onward and upward in the light and love of Jesus, who gives us life.
Peace and goodwill to all,
Pastor Will

What a wonderful and magical holiday season we had here at Trinity! The pews had members and guests alike during the month, especially at our Christmas eve Services. Thank you to all who planned, participated and joined us!
December was also a time for us as a church to come together to share what our thoughts and feelings were about Trinity's future. We had two meetings and appreciated the discussion and feedback. We will have two more meetings in January and plan to give an update at the annual meeting. We are such a strong community of faith and I know we will continue to pray that our future together becomes more clear.
Please know that the Deacon's are working hard to gather all the information to help us continue our mission into 2024 and beyond!

Hello Trinity Church Community!
This past Advent/Christmas Season was a great experience for myself, and I hope it was for many of you! In addition to the wonderful special music presentations and the meaningful Christmas Eve services, I am so proud to get to work with so many musicians and volunteers who came together for a service of beautiful music to celebrate the story of Christ’s Birth. The 2023 Lesson & Carols service was a wonderful presentation of what the Trinity Church Music Ministry has to offer its community. Music is a gift from God, given for all to share! Thank you to all of the performers, volunteers, and congregation members for being a part of that event!
For our musicians, take a well-deserved break from weekly rehearsals. Weekly rehearsals for the groups I lead will resume their typical schedule the second week of January. Adult Voice Choir on the 8th at 12:30pm, and Worship Band on the 9th at 7:00pm. These groups will begin their preparations for the Winter, Lent, & Easter Seasons. Handbell Choir members should keep a look-out for updates on the first rehearsal back from Tom Danforth.
Looking into the New Year, I hope you might consider trying something new…joining one of our music ministry groups: Adult Voice Choir, Hand Bell Choir, Worship Band, Worship Planning Team, & Volunteering for Worship. All levels of experience are welcome, as long as you come with a spirit of love for God and Music. If you have any questions about these groups, you can reach out to me via email trinitynorthboroughmusic@gmail.com.
May the New Year bring you many blessings and may we grow in generosity, kindness and forgiveness, hope, faith and love!
Until We Meet Again,
Scott Arnold (he/him)
Music Director of
Trinity Church of Northborough

You are invited to volunteer one or two afternoons a week as an after-school tutor at Worcester’s North High School. This volunteer-run program is open to all kids at Worcester’s North High School. However, in practice all the kids who come are recently arrived refugees who, while enrolled in the public schools, still need some help with homework or other English language related skills.
All the kids speak and understand English well enough to be tutored. Generally, where they need help is in mastering the content, or in reading or writing. Tutoring sessions occur on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons from around 2:15pm– 3:30pm (approximately). You can sign up for as few or as many days as you want. No special skills are needed.
Volunteers are required to submit their details for a background check before being allowed to help.
If you are interested, please contact Maya Desai at maya.c.desai@gmail.com who is organizing this effort.

Pledge/offering envelopes for 2024 have not yet arrived. As soon as they come in, I will have them ready for pickup. | |
Going forward, Trinity church needs your help to keep the building running throughout the year. The Property Committee can no longer do this alone.
There are a number of small tasks which need to be done to keep things running smoothly. These tasks range from mowing the lawn or shoveling snow to opening and closing the storm windows, resetting the clocks, and resetting light timers.
Most of the tasks are small and only take 10 – 15 minutes but we need people to do them. The church Admin, Rita, will send out an email to people who have agreed to complete a task in a given month reminding them of the task.
Tom Danforth is looking for volunteers to do the tasks. He will be in the Fellowship Hall during Coffee Hour on January 7th and January 14th. Please stop by to sign-up for one or more tasks.
If you’re one of the congregation members who is remote and you want to help, please contact Rita in the church office at: trinitychurchnboro@gmail.com
