LOOKING BACK, LOOKING AHEAD
Words don’t adequately express how much I am thankful for each of one you.
Thank you so much for your kindness and thoughtfulness to me during the year
and especially during the Advent and Christmas season.
I am so blessed to be Senior Minister of such an outstanding church!
The love you show to me, to one another, and to our community
makes a positive difference in the world.
Trinity shines brightly because of you!
May our light continue to shine in 2026, blessing people,
and glorifying God, whose name is Love.
MY NEW YEAR’S WISH TO YOU
“May your life be a testament to the beauty of blessings.”

Hello Trinity Church Community!
This past Christmas Season was a great experience for myself, and I hope it was for many of you! In addition to the wonderful special music presentations, many people came together for a night of beautiful music. The 2025 Lesson & Carols service was a wonderful presentation of what the Trinity Church Music Ministry has to offer its community. Music is a gift from God, given for all to share! Thank you to all of the performers, volunteers, and audience members for being a part of that service!
For the groups that performed, take a well-deserved break from weekly rehearsals. Hand Bell Choir and Voice Choir will resume their weekly meetings after a few weeks. See the flyer for the first rehearsals after the New Year to be ready to begin preparations for the Lent & Easter Seasons.
For the month of January, you expect to hear more solo/small group selections for Special Music moments. Song titles and dates are still being finalized. Our services will include a new “Song of the Month”. Many of you are familiar with the praise chorus, “Holy Ground”; however, the full version typically includes verses. Following the Prelude each Sunday, Pastor will lead us in a musical Call to Worship in a “call & response” style. He will be singing the verses as a solo and the congregation will respond with the chorus. You can listen to a performance video HERE. I also plan for us to continue ending our services with a “3-Fold Amen”, but we will use one of the other melodies found in our Chalice Hymnal (#314). Listen to an example HERE.
Looking forward into the New Year, I hope you might consider joining one of our music ministry groups: Adult Voice Choir, Hand Bell Choir, Worship Band, Worship Planning Team, & Volunteering for Worship. If you have any questions about these groups, you can reach out to me via email (trinitynorthboroughmusic@gmail.com).
May the New Year bring you many blessings and may we grow in generosity, kindness and forgiveness, hope, faith and love!
Until We Meet Again,
Scott Arnold (he/him)
Music Director of
Trinity Church of Northborough

The ONA Social Justice Team wants to spread KINDNESS into the world.
Please save the date of Saturday, March 14, 2026 for our Kindness Event: Chili Cook Off.
Last year's event was a joyous event filled with food, music, laughter and fellowship. There were just over 100 Trinity folk and members of our community.
We will need your help for a successful night.

REMEMBERING MARTIN LUTHER KING JR.
Martin Luther King Jr. was a Baptist minister, deeply rooted in the African-American Baptist tradition, co-pastoring Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta with his father and drawing heavily on biblical teachings and the Black Church's cultural strength for his civil rights activism. His faith, inspired by his family of Baptist preachers, fueled his advocacy for equality and justice through nonviolent means.
I was a preteen when he led the Civil Rights Movement during the tumultuous 1960's. He was and will always be a hero of mine for his bravery to speak "Truth to Power" about the need for equal rights, and to protest march in places that needed hope. I will remember him again on Monday, January 19, 2026.

STEEPLE AND EXTERIOR MAINTENANCE UPDATE
Trinity has signed a contract with Valley Restoration LLC for Phase 1 of the steeple project, which involves the temporary removal of the spire, bell and belfry, and reinforcement of the sanctuary roof.
Phase 1 will commence shortly and is expected to be completed by spring.
The Exterior & Restoration Task Force is assessing which capital projects might be included in the 2026 capital campaign.
In order to give careful consideration to such projects, we have moved the capital campaign feasibility study to the third week in March.
As part of the study, we will invite a small group of church members to be interviewed by Jill White of the UCC Church Building & Loan Fund, our capital campaign consultant.
