Boys Soccer off to great start in Bay League with 4-0 record!
The Boys’ Soccer team is off to a great start in Bay League play with 4 consecutive wins. The most impressive victory was a 1-0 win at Palos Verdes. The senior captains, Andrew Fasano, Keyan Torabi and Robert Cook, were key players in this big game. Andrew was stellar in goal, Keyan solidified the midfield and Robert wreaked havoc up front and scored the goal. Read More

Orchestra hosts ice skating fundraiser, and
upcoming Rotary Solo Competition finals!
On January 19th, the Orchestra student leaders helped organize an ice skating fundraiser. It was very successful with 102 students participating, and lots of fun for everyone.
On Friday, February 2nd, the Orchestra and Band soloists will compete in the Rotary Solo Competition Finals in the auditorium. Click here for list of finalists

Boys Rugby, Loversky, Takes Over As Costa Rolls In Home Opener
The Mira Costa Mustang Ruggers completely dominated View Park Prep HS (55-0) that has been decimated by the graduation of senior classmen. The normally strong program is in the midst of rebuilding. Read More
Costa Girls Rugby continue to show improvement!
The Costa girls took on the very well-coached and talented View Park girls’ side in a couple of 7’s matches. While Coach Taylor’s team dropped both contests, they are showing rapid improvement. Captain Alexis Fonua has been a tremendous leader and the girls have developed both a strong sisterhood and a love of the game. The future is extremely bright for the Lady Mustang.
Girls Soccer will face two strong opponents this week!
The season is in full swing and the girls are playing as a unit and are communicating well which reflects in their winning record of 13-2.
Two big games coming up this week:
Playing Rival Redondo Beach Tuesday, 3:00 pm at home on the new field
Senior Recognition Game against Penninsula Friday, ceremony starts at 2:45 pm honoring the senior players, game at 3:00 pm on the new field
Shout out to Costa Girls Soccer Alumni Kimby Keever
Congrats to Costa Girls Soccer Alumni, Kimby Keever, on being drafted with Houston Dash!
Costa Alumni, Kimby Keever, was taken 12th overall and drafted with the Houston Dash. She will be graduating from UC Davis in the Spring, after an outstanding career, and pursuing her dream of playing professional soccer.
Costa Band has busy Winter season!
The Mira Costa Marching Band and Colorguard performed at California Adventure on Saturday, Jan. 20. They entertained the crowds on a rather blustery, cold day, but everyone was in good spirits and had a great time enjoying the rides when the parade was done. The Marching Band will make one more appearance at the Manhattan Beach Little League Parade, before retiring their uniforms for the season. Read More
Girls Basketball has started strong in the Bay League with 3-1 record! 
The season opener against Peninsula was a great win, with a final score of 58-45. Haley Herdman led the team with 24 points and 6 rebounds; Gloria Bianchi 15 points and 10 rebounds and Kelli Toyooka with 9 points and 6 assists.  The team was not so fortunate against PV, but dominated against Xavier Prep in a nonleague game ,

Boys and Girls Wrestling Team have solid performance last weekend!
Girls Wrestling takes 4th place!

The Girls Varsity team wrestled Saturday in the Lady Big Kat Invitational at Capistrano Valley High School. There were 25 schools and Costa finished in 4th Place.
Boys Wrestling takes 1st place!

The Boys team is currently ranked # 1 in our CIF duals division.
The Varsity Boys wrestled at Millikan High School. There were 12 schools there and the team finished 1st Place! Read More

Big business means big laughs in Mira Costa High School Drama/Tech’s upcoming spring production of Frank Loesser and Abe  Burrows’ How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,  a delightfully irreverent musical comedy playing April 20th-28th in the Mira Costa auditorium
Girls Water Polo finishes in Top 10 at AFC Tournament in Coronado!
Girls Water Polo enjoyed a fantastic showing at the AFC Tournament in Coronado, finishing in the top 10 and losing only to top-seeded Huntington Beach and 2nd seed ML King out of Riverside. The team easily handled Riverside Poly with an 11-4 win and then went on to beat Rosary, 8-3 and Royal, 8-5.
