Dyslexia Day at the Capitol
Mark your calendars for Dyslexia Day at the Capitol 2020 on February 11.

Everyone who wants to raise dyslexia awareness and promote understanding about effective interventions for students with dyslexia is encouraged to attend.

Representatives from Decoding Dyslexia GA, International Dyslexia Association GA, and other Community Partners will gather in Capitol Room 230 from 8:30 am-1:00 pm. Volunteers from Decoding Dyslexia GA are also organizing a lineup of events.

Students Needed for Practicum Programs
Periodically IDA-GA receives calls from teachers who are studying structured literacy and are working towards their certification in Orton-Gillingham or an O-G based program like Wilson Language. In order for these teachers to become certified, they need students for their practicum work and will tutor for free while they work under the supervision of a teacher trainer.

Currently, teachers in the following areas are seeking students for a Wilson practicum to begin in February 2020: Ackworth near Kennesaw State University; East Point near Camp Creek Market Place; Marietta near Marietta Square.

Students must be in 4th-12th grade range and must commit to a minimum of three to four 45-minute lessons, two to three 60-minute lessons, or two to three 90-minute lessons (1:1) per week.
