In recognition of our essential volunteers, we've launched the OLLI at SOU VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT. Once per month, we feature volunteers in an informal and fun interview. Our January Spotlight is an interview with one of our amazing OLLI at SOU volunteer instructors, Karen Grove.

Thank You for Attending the Volunteer Faire

Thank you to everyone who attended our Volunteer Faire on January 14. We had fun getting to know our members and taste-testing four delicious soups. In case anyone is wondering who won the taste-test competition, Tomato Basil took the crown!

OLLI at SOU is a member-driven organization, which means we rely on our members for the operation of this wonderful program. 2025 Collette Travel Presentation

Join the Collette Travel representative on  Wednesday, February 5, from 10 a.m.–12 p.m. PT in Room E for a special presentation about the 2025 trips and many benefits of traveling with Collette. It's your opportunity to learn everything about the "Canyon Country" on September 5–12 trip and a sneak preview of a potential international trip in 2026.

HomeShare Presentation

Come and learn about home sharing, a new and innovative way to utilize your spare bedroom and help your community. Toni Wallick, Outreach Coordinator and Board Vice President for HomeShare Oregon, will be giving a presentation on HomeShare, a nonprofit that links homeowners with spare rooms to renters who need affordable housing.

Join us on Thursday, February 13, 1–2:30 p.m. PT, in Room D at the Campbell Center to learn more about this novel approach to providing more local affordable housing. Please note this presentation is open only to OLLI members.

Cascade Housing Complex Demolition

Read the recent SOU News release about the demolition.

Members and instructors should expect significant noise disruptions over the next few months. Construction crews and the SOU facilities are taking measure to minimize dust. Please do not enter the fenced-off demolition area. Alleyways between Campbell Center and the Cascade Housing Complex are now closed. (View map for details.) Access to Lot 16 and Grace Lutheran parking lots is not affected.
