January 2022 Walk Leader Update
Happy New year!
Let's keep on walking!

I hope 2022 brings you much happiness and good health.

First, we want to clarify that indeed, walk groups are allowed to happen during the current Covid restrictions. We fall under the guidelines similar to day camps and therefore we can have groups up to 15 people. Ideally, everyone should be masked and socially distanced. For those of you walking indoors, please check with the facility as there might be different rules.

Walk Leader Refresh Session!

We have evolved quite a bit since last March. If you took the leader training a while ago and haven’t had a chance to become involved, consider participating in the REFRESH session to be held on Wednesday, February 2nd at 1:00 p.m. for an hour.
If you are interested in participating, please contact me by January 27th and I will send out the information.
Walks are making an impact on participants
I'm sure you are hearing great feedback from your participants on what these walks mean to them. I'd like to share just one of these comments from a participant as told by Walk Leader Kimberlynn.
"After our walks we take a moment to share our gratitudes. Today one of the participants mentioned that for the first time she was able to walk without heavy breathing. She has noticed a big difference in her health because of her weekly walk."
We'd love to hear feedback from you and your participants! Send them in or share them on our FB Leaders page.

Virtual Walk Leader Gathering

We had our first virtual leader gathering in December. Attendees said they would like to do this on a quarterly basis. So our next one will be held on Monday, February 28th. In addition, some leaders are interested in regional gatherings. We will look at setting these up over the next few months. If you want to help with this, please let me know.
Next Walk Leader Training

Our first walk leader training of 2022 will be held on Thursday, January 13th at 9:00 a.m. Please share with anyone who might be interested in getting trained. Please note, a participant from your group can train to be a walk leader and still stay as part of your group. They don't have to go off and form their own group. Having several leaders per group is one of the ways the Scotland program sustains itself.
