Happy New Year!
Welcome to 2019
As we begin the new year, I'd like to highlight some small changes and additions that I have made to our youth ministry. Please read below for details on these changes! I look forward to a great new year and getting to further work with your youth.
Well Meals
From now on, there will be a sign-up sheet on our youth bulletin board in the Narthex with our Well dates, times, and locations. ANYONE from the parish is welcome and encouraged to provide a meal for us and sign up regardless of if you have youth.
Our group ranges around 5-10 people and the meal can be anything from spaghetti to sandwiches. Please spread the word and if you would like to provide a meal, especially for our first Well on January 9th , please sign up!

*The Well will resume on January 9th at 6:30 pm
Focus on Outreach

For the new year I would like to put a significant focus on outreach. One of my goals moving into this position was that our youth would be more involved with outreach and this focus will be a combination of individual and group effort. For the 2019 year I am setting a goal of 1,000 total service hours for our youth. I will plan some group service outings, but I would like the youth to go out and find their own service projects, big or small. That being said, at the end of each month, I will collect the amount of service hours each youth has completed, including appropriate signatures, and whoever has the highest amount for that month will receive a gift card. Youth are not required to complete service hours each month, but this is meant to be as a fun activity for everyone and something that I hope can continue for years to come.
Cookies for the Blood Drive

Our parish Blood Drive is on January 15th and our youth have been asked to bake cookies for this event. If you are interested in providing some cookies for this event please let me know and we will schedule a time for them to be dropped off on January 14th!
LOSN Celebration Event
On January 22nd from 5:30-8 pm , the Lake Oswego Sustainability Network will be having a celebration event. The event is located at the Lake Oswego United Methodist Church (1855 South Shore Boulevard). Please come and enjoy some food and listen to reports about current sustainability efforts being made in Lake Oswego. Anyone is welcome!
Mission Trip 2019

In the Summer of 2019, we will be going to Peru with Health Bridges International for our annual mission trip. I have already sent an email and information packet out to all parents of eligible youth who are either incoming freshman in high school or incoming freshman in college. If you did not receive an email and you have an eligible youth, please email me and I will send you the information. If you have youth that are interested, please let me know!
30 Good Minutes

30 Good will resume on Sunday, January 6th! I am working on having this time be more structured and similar to our adult 30 Good Minutes. Please keep a look out for how this change will look.
Food Truck Sunday
On Sunday, February 10th from 5:30-7:30 pm , the Ash Wood Fired Pizza food truck will be parked in our upper Christ Church parking lot. For those of you attending the children and family service that night, this will be the dinner instead of the potluck. Anyone is still welcome to bring their food inside as there will be seating provided in Cummins Hall. Please join us and invite your friends!
