It was an honor to partner with our stakeholders, sponsors, elected officials and friends in 2018 as we all work to make King of Prussia (KOP) more vibrant, attractive and prosperous. Last year, KOP enjoyed another incredible year of transformation, and King of Prussia District is proud of the role we played in this forward movement. In 2018, we worked to make Moore Park a safer place for pedestrians and drivers by completing the First Avenue Road Diet. Continuing our commitment to making KOP more attractive for all, we took crucial steps forward on the First Avenue Linear Park and planted two new medians. Our robust event calendar (which is growing in 2019!), kept our community of employees, residents and visitors engaged and entertained...while raising money for Children's Hospital of Philadelphia through KOP Restaurant Week and its new sister event, KOP Shops for CHOP. Finally, $41,500 was generated for physical improvement projects in KOP thanks to another amazing KOP Beerfest Royale. We are proud of these accomplishments and grateful for the support we received to help make it all happen.

The word is out that big things are happening here. This past year, King of Prussia was included in 100 articles in 17 publications, including Curbed Philadelphia, The Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Magazine. Residents are moving into the beautiful new multifamily communities that have come online this year. Restaurants and retailers continue to invest in KOP; eager to be a part of the world-class shopping and dining scene that we've all fostered. Businesses continue to move here, with 3 more headquarters joining us this year.  Listed below are  some  of the new businesses we welcomed in 2018. This growing list showcases the continued progress and economic development in King of Prussia, and your commitment to making it flourish.  Thank you!

ROI on First Avenue Linear Park
The quantifiable benefits of public open space drives our vision of the First Avenue Linear Park

Open space and trails are an important component of any community.  The National Recreation and Park Association published survey results in early 2018 that show 85% of residents consider proximity to public open space as an important factor when deciding where to locate.  However, residents are not the only community members that benefit from public open space. The proposed First Avenue Linear Park, which will begin construction this year, is an example of a public open space that will benefit residents, employees and commercial property owners alike.
The Urban Land Institute's report, The Case for Open Space: Why the Real Estate Industry Should Invest in Parks and Open Spaces, analyzed 30 different open space projects across the country and found that developers are rewarded in a variety of ways by including open space in commercial projects or supporting local initiatives to create area parks. Beyond the countless health benefits of outdoor activities, public open space can create new revenue streams from vendors, accelerate market absorption of empty commercial space and increase business retention. These quantifiable metrics are in addition to the enhanced profile within the community and increase in property values across the neighborhood and local commercial district.

These are the same benefits that commercial property owners participating in Phase 1 of the Linear Park will enjoy. The public multimodal trail and seating areas will provide King of Prussia with more outdoor recreational space for community members and greater visibility for adjacent businesses and commercial space. This diversified public space will continue to grow as Moore Park  evolves into a dynamic mixed-use neighborhood.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Home to 60,000 employees and the largest concentration of commercial activity in the suburban Philadelphia region, King of Prussia is an economic powerhouse.

With over $1B in development projects recently completed or underway, and more in the pipeline, the area shows no signs of slowing down. Whether you are looking to expand your base, increase visibility or build community support, put your business in the center of the action by partnering with King of Prussia District.

KOP Shops for CHOP
Get excited for the 5th annual charitable dining & shopping event March 11-17

King of Prussia Restaurant Week and KOP Shops for CHOP are BACK! This year, expect the event to be bigger and better than ever.
