Three Questions to Consider Before Your Business Goes International

Expanding your business internationally is a massive step. Here are three questions to help you determine if your business is ready to go international.
Small-Biz Success: The Art Nanny

Art teacher Amanda Fennell invented the ColorShield, an easy-to-use reverse stencil, while she was on maternity leave in 2015. When she tested her product at local fairs and classes, Fennell found that it was a hit among kids and adults alike. In turn, Fennell launched her business, The Art Nanny, in 2016.

How SCORE Helped:

“In 2017, I had found myself with a growing brand, recognizable logo, a patent pending product - AND a 2-year-old!” says Fennell. She had no intention of starting a small business when she first went on maternity leave, and two years later, was struggling to stay organized and keep up with demand. That’s where SCORE came in.

“I worked with my SCORE mentor, Michael Rothbart, to create a well-defined business plan,” says Fennell. “I consider Mr. Rothbart a true asset to helping me create a strong foundation that I can build upon in the future.”

The Art Nanny has since grown to the point that Fennell has been able to quit her teaching job to pursue entrepreneurship full-time.
