Tomas Baxter Appointed as Next Public Safety Chief

Ashwaubenon Public Safety is pleased to announce the appointment of Tomas Baxter as our new Chief of Public Safety.

Chief Baxter brings over 21 years of service to the department, along with a strong background in leadership, having served in various roles dedicated to protecting and serving the community.

We look forward to this next chapter and the continued delivery of high-quality police, fire, and emergency medical services under his leadership.

2026 Garbage & Recycling Calendar

The 2026 Garbage & Recycling Calendar is now available! It includes holiday schedule changes, large item collection days, seasonal leaf pickups, and office closures.

The reverse side provides step-by-step instructions for special curbside services, including large item and brush collection, helping you plan ahead and stay on top of your waste and recycling needs.

USPS Postmark Changes

The USPS has recently updated its nationwide postmarking procedures, which could affect the official dates applied to mailed items—including property tax payments. A postmark is now affixed to incoming mail when it reaches the regional sorting center, not when the item is first touched by the Postal Service.

What this means for property tax payments:

  • Postmarks may now appear several days after you place your envelope in the mail.
  • A delayed postmark may cause a payment to be recorded as late, even if it was mailed before the deadline.

To ensure timely processing:

  • Mail your payment early, or
  • Utilize online payment options to avoid potential late fees.

Property Tax Collection

Full payment or first installments of real estate taxes can be paid in person at Village Hall during normal business hours until January 30, 2026. A drop box will also be available for after-hours collection. Taxes can also be mailed to the following Village address; however, they must be postmarked on or before January 31, 2025.

Check if your property taxes have been paid

The Village cannot accept late 1st installment or 2nd installment payments. These payments should be sent to the Brown County Treasurer's Office.

The Village offers a variety of curbside services to help keep your property and yard in top shape. Take advantage of them today!

Garbage & Recycling

Garbage is collected once a week on your assigned weekday. Recycling is picked up every other week on the same day, based on your A-week or B-week schedule.

To find your assigned route and pickup day, visit Ashwaubenon.gov/garbage.

Large Item Collection

The next large item collection will be in April 2026.

In the meantime, large items can be taken to the Brown County Waste Transfer Station at 3734 W Mason St. for a minimum fee of $27. A bright yellow reflective garment is required to enter.

Brush Collection

Brush collection is offered year-round upon request at ashwaubenon.gov/brush. Service is limited to village addresses, runs on a four-week cycle, and requires your contact information.
