New Plantings in the Arboretum

Over the past year, many physical changes have taken place in the Arboretum, particularly in relation to the construction of the Loop Trail. But the living collections have also seen a lot of new development. In his annual review in the Arboretum Bulletin , UW Botanic Gardens Curator Ray Larson discusses the many new and unusual plants you'll see on a stroll around the park.

Thank You!

We had a wonderful response to our fall appeal letter, which mailed out in November. Donations are still coming in! We also received numerous end-of-year gifts. Thank you for your generous and continued support of Washington Park Arboretum. This special place of beauty, education, recreation, and conservation thrives because of your thoughtful investment.
Staff Update

In December, we were delighted to welcome two additions to the Arboretum Foundation team. Lee Benner (right) is our new Development Director and will be taking the lead on many of our fundraising efforts. Whit Carter (left) is our new Events and Operations Coordinator and will provide essential support for our event fundraisers, gift shop, and busy office.

Classes at the CUH

Our partners at UW Botanic Gardens offer many great and affordable classes for adults at the Center for Urban Horticulture - on everything from botanical sketching to plant identification. The 2018 class schedule has just been posted. You'll even find some free workshops, such as this one on landscape design fundamentals (January 8). Click the link below to browse and sign up.
