Then, in January, all those To Dos that have piled up as so staggering that we find ourselves in February--the shortest month of the year--trying to tie up all of those loose ends.

So, here we are "doing" a LOT in February....read all about it here!

Take a look at where Youth In Philanthropy went in February
and mark your calendars for some exciting events that will be coming up!
LFF Youth in Philanthropy travels to Netflix!

Join us in celebrating our Youth in Philanthropy (YIP) students as they went on an exciting corporate field trip to Netflix!

The students were given a special behind-the-scenes tour of the company, and had the opportunity to meet with Netflix employees and executives to learn about their philanthropic efforts.

It was an incredible experience for our YIP students, who gained valuable insights into the world of corporate social responsibility and philanthropy. Thank you to Netflix for hosting our YIP students and inspiring the next generation of philanthropic leaders!
GF YOUTH BOARD VOTES ON
2023 GRANT RECIPIENT

In addition to learning about community involvement and leadership, Gilroy Foundation's Youth Board is also taking a hands-on approach to learning about philanthropy.

Gilroy Foundation's Youth Board is given $1,000 annually by the Board of Directors to award a grant. Their focus areas are on youth, therapeutic animals services, rescue animal services and senior citizen community programs. They set up interviews with representatives from prospective grantees. At their January meeting, Youth Board members listened to these presentations, and at the February meeting, they voted on who the 2023 Youth Board grant would be awarded to. Stay tuned in March to hear how that vote went!

Also on the agenda at the February meeting was a presentation to the students by Mayor Marie Blankley. The curriculum for 2022-23 included various speakers from different community agencies so that students could learn more about local important topics.
