Many theatres are now needing to charge sales or other taxes on ticket sales. To learn how to do this, read the following articles on our Help Desk:

There are two reports that help you create targeted lists. Simply follow the instructions below and run the report to a spreadsheet or DBF file.

First time patrons

  • Thank them for their first visit and get them to become regular patrons.   
  • In Wintix, go to Report|Other Reports|First timers and create a mailing list or email list.

Repeat patrons

  • Turn patrons into subscribers - if they have attended several shows, tell them about the benefits of becoming a member.
  • If they've only attended a couple of performances, entice them to come back with a special offer. 
  • In Wintix, go to Report|Other Reports|Count of performances attended.

Wintix's reporting functions are some of the most powerful tools you have for running your box office. Even if it's sometimes hard to find the time to run them, they will save you a lot of time and headaches later on by letting you find accounting inaccuracies in a timely manner.

To help you understand their importance and to learn how to use various reports that will make you a box office star, we are launching a series of articles about them. Enjoy!

dailysalesThe Wintix daily sales report
It's critical to run a Daily Sales Report every day!

This report will guarantee that daily sales are input correctly. If any errors occur during input or if a Webtix sale did not complete because an online patron abandoned the sale, correcting this report daily is a much easier task than finding a mistake weeks or months later.


Daily sales reports are handy things to give to the accounting office or bookkeeper for auditing purposes.  Is your accounting office connected to Wintix?  If not, did you know they can access Wintix reports if their computers have Wintix installed?  For more information about this very efficient way to make your accounting office happy, contact us at 831-583-0641 or 831-920-1254 to learn how.

Here are some options when running a daily sales report:
  • Include remarks: When selected, includes the contents of the remarks field. If you have not made changes, the remarks field will usually contain the seat locations for a reserved seating show. Any additional information added to the remarks field will also be displayed.
  • Include payment types and cards: When selected, gives you the first digit and last four digits of credit card numbers for any sales paid by credit card.  All other digits are replaced by asterisks for security purposes. 
  • Include the seat listing: When selected, lists the seat locations with each sale for a reserved seating show. Use it if you have altered the contents of the remarks field or you have not selected the "Include remarks" option.
  • Choose your output:  If you choose "Run the report" instead of "Browse the report" you can send it to the screen, printer, DBF File, PDF or email. 
  • If you want to see records for all sales within the date(s) selected, leave the radio button for "All records" selected. To get only a summary, click the radio button for "Totals only."  
Webtix note:
In a box office, you run this report at the end of the day. You balance on this report, make any corrections, and staple it to your bank deposit slip. If you are also using Webtix, things are a little different. With Webtix, sales go on 24 hours a day. You can sync your business day between Wintix and your payment gateway.
