Save the dates now to attend the 2020 IPPS Eastern Region Conference being held in Hamilton, Ontario! The conference theme is “2020 Vision: Seeing into the Future”. 2020 is a great year to look back at industry trends and research in order to forecast our future. There will be a choice of pre-conference tours – one with a botanical garden focus and one nursery focused. Two days of conference tours will allow you to experience Ontario’s thriving horticulture industry firsthand. Mark your calendars now and watch for details in future issues and on our website.   
 
KEITH OSBORNE NAMED 2019 TOP RECRUITER

Membership Chair Shelby French pinned the coveted "Top Recruiter" ribbon on Keith Osborne at the Madison conference as the winner of the 2019 IPPS-ER Top Recruiter competition! Keith, of Gro-Bark, Ontario, Ltd., also received a free year of membership for bringing in the most new members.  

The 2020 Top Recruiter program has begun! Whoever recruits the most NEW paying members between Oct 20, 2019 and Sept 1, 2020 will receive a FREE membership for 2021 AND get to sport that bright ribbon at the 2020 conference. Sorry, student memberships don't count as they don't pay dues.  Send new members  HERE  to join.

Funding to support internship experiences:
March 1 deadline
 
The International Plant Propagators’ Society-Eastern Region Foundation (IPPS-ERF) is proud to introduce a new funding program to support internship experiences related to nursery production, plant propagation, or plant collections for students or newer (< 5-years of experience) industry workers. Grants are for up to $1,000 to support travel, housing, wages, or educational expenses (such as a conference or specific training) to enhance their overall internship experience. The successful candidate(s) will receive the grant in the form of a reimbursement for expenses incurred during the internship experience. The deadline for submitting a proposal is March 1, 2020 .
