In-Person American Sign Language Class

Mondays, Jan. 8 & 22 | 6 – 7 p.m.

ISD campus

These classes feature a weekly theme. Offered to families of ISD and others in the local area who have children who are deaf or hard of hearing. Non-ISD families are welcome; however, space is limited and ISD families will be prioritized. Please register to reserve your seat.

Thursday, Jan. 11 | 6 – 7 p.m. | ISD Campus

All area families who have children who are deaf or hard-of-hearing are welcome, including those who do not have students enrolled at ISD.

Family Resources Workshop

Thursday, Jan. 25 | 6 – 7:30 p.m.

Virtually or in-person at ISD

Theme: #DEAFCAN - Highlighting Modern Deaf Professionals

For families and educators of school-age children who are deaf or hard of hearing. Non-ISD families and educators are welcome! Interpreters provided. Free; registration required.

Family Resources Workshop

Jan. 25 and Feb. 1 workshops will feature Deaf adults who will provide encouragement to parents about their children's futures.

Virtual American Sign Language Class

Jan. 26 - March 1

Registration open for American Sign Language classes held virtually via Zoom. Free; must be eligible. Classes will be held Mar. 18 – May 6.

April 24: Signing & Saying Symposium

Mark your calendar for kindergarten – eighth graders who are deaf or hard of hearing to participate in STEM activities made accessible just for them! This event will take place at the Des Moines Science Center. Details to be announced and will be posted here when available.
