Lakeland District - Keeping you Up to Date!
panelA Huge Thanks to a Huge Success!!

Lakeland District hosted A Panel Discussion on Mental Health on January 12, 2021 which was a huge success!! Panelists Laura Lawrence, Chris Beaudry and Annika Olson talked about a variety of 'tools' that each of us can use to navigate through our mental health journey.

Thank you to all 60+ participants who joined us in the Panel Discussion and contributed your valuable insight to our evaluation process. We were so grateful that 60 screens logged in to view the panel, some of which were workplaces and classrooms, what an honour.

If you missed the Panel Discussion on Mental Health and would like to hear what Laura, Chris and Annika provided to those who participated we invite you to watch the recording here!

CBYFSpotlight on Youth Leadership in the Community

Last year, Communities Building Youth Futures Prince Albert (CBYF PA) initiated an ambitious plan to transform the lives of young people in the city.

In consultation with local youth and community partners, CBYF PA has identified the following priorities:
  • to create a safe, connected, vibrant community centered around the city's youth;
  • to build foundational social bonds for youth that will support their education and employment goals; and,
  • to increase educational attainment and employment among Prince Albert's youth.
CBYF PA is a project of the Prince Albert Urban Indigenous Coalition (PAUIC), the Community Networking Coalition (CNC), with the West Flat Citizen's Group as the accountable partner. The project is funded by the Learning Branch, Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) with implementation support through Tamarack Institute.

To learn more about this initiative, check out their Facebook and Instagram pages or directly contact CBYF PA's Coordinator, Alex Powalinsky.
