January Resources
Welcome to January!

Our theme this month is "Prepare the way!"
Our main verse this month is Matthew 3:1-12.

John the Baptist does appear in more than one Gospel.
Memory Verses
Mathew 3:11
“(John said) I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”

Matthew 24:44
"Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect."

For Discussion
John the Baptist was preparing the way for the coming of Christ. John baptized with water, but Jesus would baptize with the Holy Spirit. We, too, can share the Good News of Jesus with those around us.
Challenge Activity

  1. We all need to prepare for various things. For example, does your family have an emergency prepare kit and/or plan?  Practice your plan!
  2. Repentance: talk with your parents and mentors about what it means to them to “repent” regarding God.

To support and spread the fun we have created a private Facebook group: 'Virtual Children's Ministry.'

This group can be found off of the church's Facebook page:  https://www.facebook.com/mumcnj/groups/. You should have already received an invitation to join the group but if you have not please click on the button below and then request to join the group.

Through this group we hope to post updates and enable the children to see and share their own pictures. This will be a great place to share our own experiences from the virtual children's ministry.
