These works are part of my Disorder series, which draw from
my experiences of death, loss and grief, and also living after
loss.
The broken glasses represent the human soul or spirit, and human
energy, and what remains after we lose a loved one. The
composition, colors and style are carefully chosen to express
specific experiences in my life, and situations that I found myself
in. Based on the reactions of other people to these works I think
that they touch something in everyone's experience, something
personal and yet universal.

Impermanence

This work, Impermanence, has been accepted
for the fourth annual "Third Coast National" art show. Juried by
Trenton Doyle Hancock, who, among other honors, has works in the
Whitney Museum and the Dallas Museum of Art, chose 68 works from
over 860 that were submitted.
It is my first national recognition of this kind, and I am really
excited to be part of it.
The show takes place at K Space
Contemporary in Corpus Christi, from October 16th until
November 20th.
I will be attending the opening reception on October 16th.

It's All
A Conspiracy!
Art Conspiracy, Dallas.
October 23rd 2010.
ArtCon 5, last year! The bidding starts....
 |
Within just 13 minutes of opening, all 150 artist slots to be
part of Art Conspiracy were
gone! I was one of the lucky ones who snagged one just in
time!
But why all the fuss? I hear you cry... Art Conspiracy is the hottest art
charity fundraiser in Dallas. Every year, the crew take over a
disused warehouse and organize a night with live bands, interesting
people, good beer, and of course bidding on artworks.
The artworks are created by local artists on 18" x 18" boards, and
bidding starts at just $20. I took my family last year (I was also
one of the artists last year too) and the crew created a wonderful
atmosphere, for a very memorable evening. The time is 6pm till
late, and parking with attendants is provided.
Mark your calenders, come along and get a great deal on original
artworks, and help raise money for charity too.
