Here is Jim Kricker of Rondout Woodworking a, traditional woodworker and historic preservationist, loading the heart pine he will be using in the Clearwater Restoration Project.
The Clearwater Sloop came to be thanks largely in part to Pete Seeger. The musician and activist, along with several friends, had a vision to build a replica of the sloops that had sailed the Hudson River in the 18th and 19th centuries. Their main goal was that the replica would bring people to the river and inspire them to clean up preserve it. The vision later became the Clearwater sloop in 1969. It is a 106 foot long majestic sloop replica that is now recognized as America's Environmental Flagship.
It is an honor to work with Jim on this project, he is a remarkable craftsman!
