 Last Date of 2022 Calendar

NASHVILLE, TN (November 29, 2022) -- A full circle moment in country music history is set for New Year's Eve on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry. Entertainer Jason Coleman will make his Opry debut as an artist following in the footsteps of his legendary grandad, Floyd Cramer.

This night will be of special significance as it marks the 25th anniversary of Floyd Cramer's passing. The Hall of Fame instrumentalist whose signature hit was "Last Date," ironically passed away on the 'last date' of the calendar, New Year's Eve, 1997. In tribute, his grandson, Jason Coleman will perform some of his catalog in the same, distinct, 'slip-note' style he learned from Cramer as a child sharing the piano bench with him.

“My family and I are so humbled that the Opry would invite me to honor the 25th anniversary of Grandad’s passing in this way. I can think of no better place to play 'Last Date' on the 'last date' of the calendar than the grandest stage in the world. This will be a night we will remember forever.”

The highlight performance will include Jason Coleman collaborating with a couple of Grand Ole Opry legends for a once-in-a lifetime event, recalling a pivotal era in musical history.

This is not Jason Coleman’s first time to step onto the Opry stage though. Coleman has performed as a guest of Opry legends in the past, most notably, at age 17 with Hank Locklin and, more recently, with Charlie McCoy. However, this New Year’s Eve appearance will mark Jason Coleman’s Grand Ole Opry debut as a solo artist.

Tickets are available now at, www.opry.com, for a truly unique way to ring in the New Year, bridging the roots and exciting of a new legacy artist welcomed to this grand stage.

It will be a lifelong goal realized for Jason Coleman who played piano as a young child with his grandad, even appearing alongside him on Ralph Emery's TNN tv show. Coleman is now a standout entertainer in his own right, selling out concerts around the country and generating millions of online views each week on The Jason Coleman Show seen on You Tube (YouTube.com/JasonColemanMusic) and Facebook (www.facebook.com/jasoncolemanmusic), as well as his popular WSM Radio version of the show.

Coleman's tour dates include special tribute shows, Last Date: The Floyd Cramer Story, spotlighting the many hits featuring Cramer's piano stylings as a member of Nashville's A-Team. Cramer can be heard on recordings from Patsy Cline to Elvis to Roy Orbison and Jeannie Seely, the list goes on which led to Floyd Cramer being inducted into both the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a very rare and special achievement. And that is the legacy Coleman pledges to uphold.

About Jason Coleman:
Jason Coleman follows in the footsteps of his legendary Grandad, Floyd Cramer by saluting his music. Coleman performs the same "slip-note" style of piano as Cramer who helped shape the Nashville Sound as one of the A Team session players, performing on mega-hits by Elvis Presley, Patsy Cline, Roy Orbison, Don Gibson and more. "Heartbreak Hotel," "Crazy" and his own standout hit, "Last Date," earned Floyd Cramer a place in the Country Music and Rock and Roll Halls of Fame.

In addition to sharing the piano bench with his grandfather at home, Jason Coleman grew up in the spotlight, performing with Floyd Cramer at his concerts and on national TV. That led to hundreds of coast-to-coast, headlining concerts over the past decade, producing a dozen albums and publishing sheet music songbooks.
