NEW ORLEANS, La. (Sept. 8, 2025) - Helena Moreno’s campaign for mayor surged forward today as prominent Louisiana leaders announced their endorsements, highlighting the growing coalition of trusted voices rallying behind her.
Public Service Commissioner Davante Lewis, Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams, and former Biden Advisor and U.S. Congressman Cedric Richmond joined Moreno at Dooky Chase’s Restaurant to formally announce their endorsements.
“As fellow delegates for Kamala Harris, Helena and I share a vision for bold, progressive leadership; and we’ve carried that vision forward in our work together on policies to combat climate change and protect Louisiana families,” said Commissioner Lewis. Helena has the experience, the passion, and the proven record we need in our next mayor, and I’m proud to stand with her in this campaign.”
“I had the honor of serving alongside Helena on the City Council, and I saw firsthand her ability to deliver results and bring people together,” said DA Williams. “Helena is the 24/7 leader who can make New Orleans work the way it should, like it’s Super Bowl every day, in every neighborhood. I’m proud to support her for mayor.”
“Helena Moreno is the candidate who can truly unify our city,” said Richmond. “She understands that every neighborhood matters, and she has always fought to represent everyone. At a time when New Orleans needs leadership that brings people together, Helena is the one we can trust to deliver for all of us as mayor.”
“These leaders represent the strength, vision, and commitment we need to move New Orleans forward,” said Moreno. “I’m honored to have their support as we work to move our city in a new direction- one where every neighborhood gets the basic services people deserve. I have the experience to get the job done on day one.”
Dozens of supporters joined the event, including Moreno’s campaign co-chair Clerk of First City Court Donna Glapion, State Legislators Jimmy Harris, and Aimee Adatto Freeman , school board member Carlos Zervigon, Clerk of Second City Court Lisa Ray Diggs, and Women for Helena co-chairs Barbara Major, Desiree Charbonnet, and Amanda Berger as well as attorney and former District 97 State Representative Juan LaFonta.
