Thank you for attending last evening's Shibboleth Detox Orientation. Jason and I are excited for you.
I always advise people to detox 3-4 times each year. The detox is only 10 days and goal-oriented people like you can do anything for 10 days. I have good news about this detox! This Shibboleth detox isn't hard to do! It's fun, easy, and rewarding. It's going to assist your body and help you heal and recover from excess food.
To get the most out of this detox you should follow these rules each day for 10 days.
Water ~ Drink 1/2 gallon up to 1 gallon of water each day. Please feel free to add fresh-squeezed lemon juice to your water each day in order to aid the detox process. The lemon juice isn't mandatory but drinking at least 1/2 gallon of water is unless your physician directs otherwise.
Journal ~ In order to earn your Shibboleth Detox badge it is mandatory that you journal online in your online journal daily.
Portions ~ Please do not have more than three eating episodes each day. You do not have to eat three times each day but you can. Less is best during a detox. There is no danger in going into "starvation mode" over a 10 day period. If you are diabetic you should consult your physician before participating in this detox. With your qualified physician's advice, we can make modification suggestions. Please use these portion control plates/bowls or ones the same size that you may already have on hand. If you prefer calorie counting try and keep breakfast calories around 250-300 calories. Try and keep lunch and dinner calories around 250-350 calories. Do remember that it's important to eat less and only when necessary over the 10 day period.
Timing ~ It is important to allow 4-6 hours between eating episodes. It isn't mandatory but you will get much, much better results with a 16 hour daily fast. After your last daily eating episode, consume no calories until the next day and only after 16 hours of consuming no calorie-containing foods or drinks. If you deal with low blood sugar episodes please ask your doctor for recommendations and follow her or his recommendations.
If using the Advocare Herbal Cleanse Kit in conjunction with the eating plan and rules, please take the following way:
- Consume the fiber packet any time during the day but before 4 pm if possible. I mix the fiber packet with 16-20 ounces of Ocean Spray Diet, throw in 3 cubes of ice, and blend well. This isn't considered an eating episode.
- Take Advocare Probiotic Restore anytime before noon and preferably on an empty stomach. Chase with a serving of water.
- Take Advocare Herbal Cleanse Packet before bed on an empty stomach. Chase with a serving of water.
I cannot stress enough that you should share this information and meal plan with your doctor. You should always consult a qualified medical provider before starting any new eating lifestyle or program.
It is not mandatory but you should also strive to get in at least 10,000 steps each day. Sweating daily is an important part of detoxification.
