The five-year trend of dropout rates shows improvement in Jeffco, and, of significance for 2018 - 19, is a larger drop than seen in each of the prior years - a 0.3% decrease in dropouts. We attribute this to more targeted efforts in this area with programs such as MyPath at Sobesky Academy, Brady Bridge at Brady High School, Jefferson Virtual Academy TAG (Targeted Action to Graduation), Jeffco's NEXT GED Plus, and those at McLain Community High School.

“Over the last two years, we have become committed to transforming the task and providing deep, authentic learning experiences for our students,” said Jeffco Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Jason Glass. “I visit classrooms on a regular basis and have seen our staff's dedicated efforts to deliver engaging instruction to every student. I commend these educators and our support staff for being champions of this innovative and necessary model. To see our graduation rates continue to rise and the improvements in our dropout and completion rates during a time of change is gratifying. I know our schools will continue to strive to offer robust student experiences, and I expect only positive outcomes for our students.”
