Jeffco Teens Workgroup

The Jeffco Teens Workgroup is for youth in Jefferson County to work together on projects they are interested in. This opportunity includes learning about and participating in coalition work to improve health, safety, and wellness in Jefferson County.

Plus, youth who participate get paid!

Project topics may include:

Substance misuse prevention
Mental health support
Program evaluation
And more!

This workgroup meets virtually every month on the first Thursday from 4 – 5:30 PM.

This opportunity is open to all youth aged 11 – 22 who either live and/or go to school in Jefferson County, Colorado.

I Matter

The I Matter program can connect you with a therapist for up to 6 free virtual counseling sessions (some in-person appointments available, too) that are completely confidential. Lakewood Kids Climate Grant Program

Calling all Lakewood kids! Do you have an idea to help promote sustainability in Lakewood? We’d like to help kids make ideas a reality with our new Lakewood Kids Climate Grant. Grants of up to $500 are available to student clubs, classes, organizations and groups. We want to support kid-initiated, kid-driven programs to make Lakewood more sustainable.

Possible project topics may include (but are not limited to):

reducing air pollution and decreasing carbon emissions
improving energy efficiency
growing food and improving soil health
increasing use of public transportation and active transportation
conserving water
reducing waste
and more!

Calling All Teens: Youth Development Program!

Do you want to be a leader in your community? Join JCPL's eight-week Youth Development Program and receive $350 upon completion!

Participants of the Youth Development Program will learn leadership skills, master communication and advocacy and apply those skills to a final project. This is a great opportunity for teens to learn and practice mitigating stress and improve job readiness.

Through hands-on workshops and a final project, you will:

Develop leadership and teamwork skills
Learn about boundaries and healthy relationships
Practice communication and group collaboration
Apply your voice to real-world settings
Earn $350 upon program completion

This program is for teens in grades 9 - 12. Participants must attend all sessions and create individual projects that showcase their newly acquired skills.
