Tremont - Duck Island - Irishtown Bend Block Clubs Holiday Food Drive
This year, Auburn-Lincoln Park is inviting other block clubs to engage in “friendly competitions” to see which group could bring in the most in three (3) categories in the annual Tremont/Duck Island/Irishtown Bend Holiday Food Drive – of nonperishable food items and paper products along with cash and checks. The ultimate goal is to help food pantries, like St. Augustine, St. Michael, Immanuel Lutheran, St. Malachi, Westside Catholic Center, and Greater Cleveland Food Bank to feed our near west families and children in need in the holiday season. The “Grand Prize Winner” for the 2019/2020challenge was Auburn-Lincoln Park – therefore, they are issuing the challenge for the upcoming 2020/2021 season.

Jefferson Branch Public Meeting
Thursday, November 19th, 4pm Virtually
As you probably know, CPL is in the process of updating all its branches, and Jefferson is in the first round.  There's an online community meeting for Jefferson on Thursday November 19th at 4pm.  People can sign up for our "CoUrbanize" project site, https://courbanize.com/collections/cpl , where people can share feedback and get updates as the project progresses.  The eventbrite registration page hasn't yet been created for the 11/19 meeting.

Project Scope:
The Jefferson Branch is a Carnegie library and was built in 1918. The branch is located in Cleveland's Tremont neighborhood and is 6,900 SF in size. The new space will be highly flexible to maximize the limited square footage available and additional parking will improve the patron and staff parking experience. First, supporting students with access to education:
For Cleveland public school families, you can receive free high-speed internet through the partnership with Empower Cle. Moreover, the school system will provide your child with a computer.
That service is now available in the designated area on the map above. To participate in the program, you have to opt-in by calling 216-777-3859. Do not wait till the last minute, call today while supplies last!
For all other residents in the above designated map area:
Even though you do not have a child in the Cleveland school system, you can have high-speed internet in your home for less than $10 per month through Empower Cle. That’s right, no installation cost and no monthly fees. Call 216-777-3859.

There are two other low cost options for students not located in the EmpowerCLE service area:
