LARA Warns MI Corporations of Scheme to File Bogus Document

The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) is warning that a con-governmental agency called "Michigan Council for Corporations" is seeking to collect a fee of $150.00 to prepare "corporate consent records in lieu of annual meeting minutes." This notice is not issued by LARA or any governmental agency. Corporations are only obligated to file their annual report through LARA's Corporations, Securities and Commercial Licensing Bureau (CSCL) and not an "Annual Records Solicitation Form." Michigan businesses are receiving an official looking form which you can see here. Any Michigan corporation that receives this notice is advised to do the following. Keep the notice, mailing envelope, and return envelope. Contact the United States Postal Inspections Service to report mail fraud at: 1-877-876-2455 or https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/ Or contact the Michigan Office of the Attorney General at P.O. Box 30212, Lansing, MI 48909.  When receiving any official-looking document, please review it carefully and read the small print. Estimated Payment Reminder:Norman Says

The next estimated tax payment due date is June 17th. You have about a month before it needs to be paid. If you have had a significant change to your income, contact us to see if a revised estimated payment is necessary. If you will have any other changes this year such as getting married, having a baby, changing jobs, or retiring, you may want to consider calling Jellison CPA to set up a Tax Planning appointment.

Don't Miss the 84th Annual Hartland Memorial Day Parade!

Come see the Hartland Memorial Day Parade, it's a really fun day! The parade begins at noon on Monday, May 27th and travels from the Hartland Middle School at Ore Creek to Village Elementary . Sunday, May 26 at 7:00 p.m. there will be a salute to our heroes at the Hartland Cemetery. Students from the Hartland History Club dress in period costume and act as representatives for "residents" of the cemetery. At 8:00 p.m. a memorial service begins. The service concludes at 9:00 with the playing of Taps. Click here for more information about the Hartland Memorial Day Run which takes place on Maonday, May 27th in the morning before the parade. There is a pancake breakfast at Village Elementary School hosted by the Hartland Band Boosters. 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Adults $8, Kids and Seniors $6
