Last Sunday the wonderful members of our Celebration Team were joined by Jeff Kremer, who spoke from personal experience about the rewards that are reaped by everyone who participates in Legacy Giving. Jayne Rizner (upper left) handled the platform duties with charm, grace and her ever present smile. Our Prayer Partner, Jeri Lash, shared information on some of the Native American mementos that have special meaning to her.

On Sunday, Mike's well chosen music spotlighted two of our favorite choir members: Kathy Garcia, whose sweet, clear voice caressed every note, and Andy Monger, whose impeccably delivered performance showed his years of experience with his popular Barber Shop quartet. As for our own Mike Davis, what can we say? He's simply the best!

Here's some VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION that you need to know if you are signed up to attend the showing of this award winning movie by Dan Brown. The doors will be LOCKED and the movie will BEGIN at 4:30. No exceptions will be made, so please plan accordingly. It's going to be awesome. SEE YOU THERE!

Yes, it's true that the box at the bottom of this newsletter has been updated to add Rick Volker as our new Treasurer and Suzi Henry as an At Large member. While it's also true that it shows Janet McIntire as our new Secretary, but that is because our bylaws require that we must have al four officer positions staffed. Janet is glad to help out, but she has also made it clear that her other commitments will not allow her to take on the many duties that were handled by our much loved Kathy Garcia. At this time, the other board members have agreed to share the various responsibilities, but this is a stopgap measure at best.

We affirm that each of our active members will search their souls, and we further affirm that one man or woman will volunteer soon to take on this vital role in our church leadership. If you want clarification about the duties of the Secretary, please talk to Mike Davis or any member of our board. Again, Kathy has agreed to spend whatever time is needed to get our new secretary up to speed. You will NOT be in this alone. We thank you and we bless you

September 3 - Card Making group at 1:30. This one is a smorgasbord. Bring anything that appeals to you. There will be water color, stamping, feathers, buttons and pictures! And anything else your creative mind conjures up. Trust us. It's going to be a lot of fun.

September 9-10 - World Day of Prayer events. Mike and the Prayer Partners will meet on Wednesday, September 9. A signup sheet will be available at the church Sunday so that you can select your timeslot in our annual prayer vigil on Thursday, September 10.

Sept 26 at 10:00 - Our UCOM Hiking and Adventure group's next hike will meet at Whiteside Mountain Trail. Details coming soon.

RECURRING MONTHLY EVENTS:

EVERY THURSDAY - A Course in Miracles - from 10-11:30 AM at the church. Contact Linda Hall at 386-527-4294 for a Zoom link.

Our Meditation group meets at 5 PM - at the church. on the second Wednesday of the month during the summer. Any changes in the schedule will be announced.

UCM Mountain Time Men's Group - The Blairsville Restaurant, 40 Earnest St. The group meets the second Thursday of the month at 9:30 AM unless otherwise noted.

Unity Church of the Mountains - Our 25th Anniversary will be celebrated in conjunction with our annual Thanksgiving get together. Our board is working on plans for some special events to commenorate this milestone. This is also an opportunity for us to be thankful that we own our church property, as we continue to attract more visitors and new members. As we watch our church continue to grow and prosper in every way, we continue to bless the outpouring of love, and the sharing of time, talent and treasures by our members and Friends of Unity.

PENNIES FROM HEAVEN - Your generous donations provide assistance for those occasional emergencies that sometimes befall our church family. If you or someone you know needs help, please contact our Spiritual Leader, Mike Davis.



POSITIVE PATHWAYS - We continue to support this worthy organization. They need individually wrapped snacks. Also, the full list of their ongoing needs is posted on the bulletin board in the hallway.

ECUMENICAL FOOD PANTRY - The list of most needed items is posted in the hallway.
