Jeremiah's GPS

This Sunday we bravely tackle an often-taboo aspect of navigating a journey: wanting to give up. There are several reasons we want to give up: difficult transitions, challenging circumstances, heartbreaking rejections. There are several ways we want to give up: quitting our dreams, walking away from pursuits, and discontinuing our reason for living. In this Sunday's service we will tackle the tough subject of suicidality and pain. We do this because we worship a God who is expansive enough to deal with everything we struggle with in life. We do this because God is a balm in Gilead. We do this because we worship a God who said, “come unto me all who are weary and heavy laden”. If you are weary and heavy laden you are invited to come. Come because now is the time to lay our burdens before the God who gives us joy and strength to face another day. Come and encounter the great physician for your soul. Come let us worship.

This Sunday's scripture comes from Jeremiah 8:18-9:3

Ask questions! Live the questions! “Living the Questions” is a 3-part video program

that introduces us to Progressive Christianity and gives the space for deep thought, doubt, and

asking questions that challenge the status quo. The program goes beyond the cliches of

Christianity that we see in the media or that we may have learned in church. We have already

explored the first two parts of this program. Now we will explore the third and final part, titled

“Call to Covenant.” This 7-week series covers topics such as A Kingdom Without Walls; Social

Justice: Realizing God’s Vision; Incarnation: Divinely Human; and Creative Transformation.

Join us on this exciting and challenging journey of faith Wednesdays at 7:00 pm on

ZOOM, beginning September 21. It doesn’t matter if you didn’t join us for parts 1 or 2 of Living

the Questions! Written materials for all seven sessions are available here. Led by Paul

Bullis.
