Marketing Using Social Media
When it comes to marketing any business there are many things to consider. The business owner and marketing team need to decide who their target audience is (what is the age range), what area do you want to cover (distance). How much of a budget you want to spend?
One of the best ways to get your business name out there is to join the Chamber of Commerce and attend networking events. When it comes to marketing you need to use a variety of marketing channels to truly be successful.
Radio, TV, Print (newspaper), Billboards, Word of Mouth, Social Media
Social media marketing is still one of the most cost effective ways to market however please do not plan on using this as your only channel. Depending on how you answered the questions about target audience and demographics will depend on what social media channel you use.
Do you research and find out which social media channels are used most within your community and demographic area. For example, Instagram is mostly used by the youngest millennials and the upcoming Gen Z. LinkedIn is used by service professionals, Pinterest targets women. Facebook is the most common social media tool. There are some specific rules to get the most out of your social media engagement.
How many times a day do you post on social media? Studies determined for the best results to do the following:
If you use the paid boosts which are effective and low cost, you still need to have plan on doing some posts. This will help to keep your business at the top of the feeds.
As indicated in the table above regarding the number of times a day to post, there are also specific times where engagement has been reported the highest.
I know right about now you are thinking how in the world can you remember to have posts going out on specific days and times. If you are new to the social media arena they have a built-in tool to make this easy for you. For example, in Facebook you can click on Publishing tools and then click Scheduled posts. This will allow you to create your posts and schedule your post for the day and time that you want. I love this feature, it allows me to block of a time in which I can create all my posts and then I can set the schedule.
Ultimately good marketing makes the company look smart, great marketing makes the customer feel smart.

Friday October 5 - Mom Prom
MME Music Magic Events, a local wedding and event company, will hold the area's first Mom Prom on October 5th at 8pm for all ladies 19 and older. The Mom Prom, which will be held at Canyon Crest Event Center, will help raise money for Tough Enough to Wear Pink.
Sponsored by radio partners, Hot 100 FM, Club 97.5, Kat Kountry 106, 94.7 & 1400 Buck FM, it is a real prom with a DJ, contests, raffles, and crowning of a queen. MME Music Magic Events will be decorating Canyon Crest and nationally known DJ SidV will be spinning tunes from the 80's, 90's and current hits. Also, One Fun Photobooth will be there with two photo booths taking free photos to remember the evening by.
This is a wonderful, hilarious night in which women can dance the night away, have fun with friends, and help a worthy cause. 18 and older, must be 21+ to drink alcohol. All profits will go to our local Tough Enough to Wear Pink bringing awareness to the Magic Valley about the importance of breast screening mammography and raising funds to provide free mammograms to women who would otherwise go without a mammogram.
“Look for that old gown in the back of your closet and get ready to dance, dance, dance while helping those in need.,” said Sid Vanderpool, owner of Music Magic Events

Saturday October 13 - Epicurean Evening
The funds for this event will go to pay for mammograms for those women in our rural areas uninsured or under insured using a Mobile Mammography Unit. Idaho is last of all states for women getting checked and our eight counties are at the bottom of Idaho's list. We can change this through this mobile unit. Agricultural, dairy, smaller towns, and far away nooks and crannies are where we will go to get these done. We will have Spanish speaking greeter on board with a tech. Help us make a difference. If you cannot attend, consider a donation, sponsorship, live or silent auction item. If you are a chef, caterer and would like to showcase your specialty dishes contact Terry Rowe at
