Sunday, October 2, 2022 is within the 10 Days of Awe (days of repentance) on the Jewish calendar. Yom Kippur, the holiest day, ends the Days of Awe this year and begins at sundown on Tuesday, October 4th and ends at sundown on Wednesday, October 5th, 2022.
Below is a well-known High Holidays prayer. It is called Unetaneh Tokef. (The translation is from Sefaria.org)
We lend power to the holiness of this day. For it is tremendous and awe filled, and on it your kingship will be exalted, your throne will be established in loving-kindness, and you will sit on that throne in truth.
It is true that you are the one who judges, and reproves, who knows all, and bears witness, who inscribes, and seals, who reckons and enumerates. You remember all that is forgotten. You open the book of records, and from it, all shall be read. In it lies each person’s insignia.
And with a great shofar it is sounded, and a thin silent voice shall be heard. And the angels shall be alarmed, and dread and fear shall seize them as they proclaim: Behold! The Day of Judgment on which the hosts of heaven shall be judged, for they too shall not be judged blameless by You, and all creatures shall parade before You as a herd of sheep. As a shepherd herds his flock, directing his sheep to pass under his staff, so do you shall pass, count, and record the souls of all living, and decree a limit to each person’s days, and inscribe their final judgment.
On Rosh Hashanah it is inscribed, and on Yom Kippur it is sealed – how many shall pass away and how many shall be born, who shall live and who shall die, who in good time, and who by an untimely death, who by water and who by fire, who by sword and who by wild beast, who by famine and who by thirst, who by earthquake and who by plague, who by strangulation and who by lapidation (stoned), who shall have rest and who wander, who shall be at peace and who pursued, who shall be serene and who tormented, who shall become impoverished and who wealthy, who shall be debased, and who exalted. But repentance, prayer and righteousness avert the severity of the decree.
For Your praise is just as Your name. You are slow to anger and quick to be appeased.
For You do not desire the death of the condemned. Rather, that they turn from their path and live and You wait for them until the day of their death.
And if they repent, You receive them immediately. (It is true -) [For] You are their Creator and You understand their inclination, for they are but flesh and blood.
We come from dust and return to dust. We labor by our lives for bread, we are like broken shards, like dry glass, and like a withered flower. Like a passing shadow and a vanishing cloud, like a breeze that passes, like dust that scatters, like a fleeting dream.
But You are the King who lives eternal.

Father God in the name, blood and authority of Yeshua the Mashiach (Jesus the Christ), we repent of our sin and transgression of not standing before You continually as watchmen for our elder brother Israel. Many in Your ecclesia have neglected to pray for the salvation of our Jewish brethren and for the peace of Jerusalem. This day we ask You, Jehovah our Elohim to bring Your church into alignment with our head, Messiah Yeshua so we truly repent and come to understand that we are grafted into the promises You gave to Israel. May revelation come to all Your people that we will not receive the fullness of what you have for us until Israel takes the place You ordained for her.
Romans 10:1 (KJV) Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth.

Repent many Israelis have not submitted to the righteousness of God but have worked to establish their own righteousness

Pray for a revelation of God’s righteousness in Messiah that would lead them to salvation
Isaiah 62:1 (KJV) For Zion’s sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.
Isaiah 62:6-7 (KJV) I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of Jehovah, keep not silence, And give Him no rest, till He establish, and till He make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

Repent for the church that we have been busy with other things and have at times not even remembered to pray for Jerusalem.

Pray God would enable His church to be faithful watchmen for Jerusalem. Let us cry out without ceasing unto Him that He make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.
Romans 11: 2a (KJV) God hath not cast away His people which He foreknew.
Jeremiah 17:13-14 (KJV) O Jehovah, the hope of Israel, all that forsake Thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken Jehovah, the fountain of living waters. Heal me, O Jehovah, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for Thou art my praise.

Prayer for full repentance for Israel and its people during these Days of Awe

Ask God for revelation to His people Israel to know Him as their Hope, their Healer, their Fountain of Living waters, their Savior and the One who is their Praise.
Jeremiah 16:14-16 (KJV) Therefore, behold, the days come, saith Jehovah that it shall no more be said, Jehovah liveth, that brought up the children of Israel out of the Land of Egypt; But, Jehovah liveth, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither He had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers.
Jeremiah 3:14-15 (KJV) Turn, O backsliding children, saith Jehovah; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion: And I will give you pastors according to Mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

Repent and cry out for the backslidden children of Israel. Pray they repent and turn to God as they are married to Him.

Pray God would enable them to hear His voice, return to Zion and be fed by His faithful Pastors.
Romans 11: 15 (KJV) For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
Romans 11:25-26a (KJV) For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. And so, all Israel shall be saved

Repentance Prayer for Jewish people throughout the world. May they encounter Messiah the King during these holy Days of Awe and receive Him in their hearts and live!

Pray as God brings in the great harvest of souls, the church would receive their Israeli brethren so resurrection life will flow into the church.
Deuteronomy 7:6 (KJV) For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God: the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto Himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.
Numbers 24:9b (KJV) …Blessed is he that blesseth thee and cursed is he that curseth thee.
Genesis 26:4b (KJV): …And in they seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;

Repent for the church that we have not taken seriously the promise of God concerning blessing Israel

Pray the ecclesia from all Christian denominations would practice blessing Israel so they receive the fullness God has promised to those who bless Israel.

Repent and ask forgiveness for those in the church who have not called Jerusalem the throne of Jehovah

Pray the church from all nations would gather to Jehovah our God in Jerusalem. Pray for the One new man (Jews and Gentile believers) who will be holy unto our God.

- Prayer for all who were affected by the storm that they may turn increasingly to the LORD for His help and His guidance.
Again, may the good LORD enable all of us to repent that when we pass under His Shepherd’s rod, our names will be inscribed in His Book of Life.
