PACP Chamber Professionals & Leadership Conference

hosted by Schuylkill Chamber

How long have you been in the Chamber profession
7 years

How long have you been in your current position
President, 3 years

What do you love most about your job
Every day is different! I love meeting passionate people, and am energized by connecting business owners to one another, their non profit community and their communities at large.

Aside from colleagues at your Chamber, which Chamber Executive has had the biggest impact on your career and how?
I am very appreciative of Donna Siter with the Western Chester County Chamber, as well as Luanne Stauffer with Upper Perk Chamber and Mark Yoder of Greater West Chester. They have always been great sounding boards and so helpful with their feedback and experience.

What is your Chamber's signature event
We host 3 Annual Events each year - Annual Awards Dinner, the Golf Classic and our Charity Gala. Each are special in their own way. We also host a few major community festivals: First Friday's, Food Truck Festival, Summer Music Series and Harvest Fest.

The Annual Awards Dinner really celebrates community spirit, with awards for businesses, non profits and individuals. The Charity Gala boasts a non profit beneficiary - our committee selects a local non profit, and we give 50% of the proceeds to that group. It's a nice arrangement for them, as they don't have to add another event to organize to their calendar, but receive the due recognition, exposure and dollars that come along with the event.

What is your favorite PA destination outside of the one you represent and why?
The Poconos! We spend that time with family - it's always relaxing, and we love to hike.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up
I teetered between physical therapist and musician. Glad to be where I am today!

Why is PACP important to you?
I always value the opportunity to learn from those who have faced similar situations, and who have creative solutions. Also, events like Chamber Day, or the seminars and conference, are so educational and give us real information and tools to bring back to our organization.
