Lord, Give Me Strength

I experienced a good deal of sorrow because of a certain person.

...But I resolved not to say a word in my defense
and to show even greater kindness toward that person.
I became aware, however, that I was not strong enough to
bear this calmly, because the matter lingered on for weeks....

I went before the Blessed Sacrament and said to the Lord,

“Lord Jesus, I ask You to give me the strength
of Your actual grace,
because I feel that I will not manage to survive this struggle.
Shield me with Your breast.”

Then I heard the words,
"Do not fear; I am with you."

When I left the altar,
an extraordinary peace and power filled my soul,
and the storm that was raging broke
against my soul as against a rock;
and the foam of the storm fell on those who had raised it.
Oh, how good is the Lord,
who will reward each one according to his deed!
Let every soul beg for the help of actual grace,
as sometimes ordinary grace is not enough.

From Divine Mercy in My Soul: the Diary of St. Faustina
And in case you are wondering...

SANCTIFYING ("ordinary") GRACE stays in the soul. It’s what makes the soul holy; it gives the soul supernatural life. More properly, it is supernatural life.

ACTUAL GRACE, by contrast, is a supernatural push or encouragement. It’s transient. It doesn’t live in the soul, but acts on the soul from the outside, so to speak. It’s a supernatural kick in the pants. It gets the will and intellect moving so we can seek out and keep sanctifying grace.

Letters from Friends

We received this email recently from a woman who made an Encounter last year and likes to keep in touch. She had been the victim of a sexual assault many years ago, and it haunted her.
Given the anger that is damaging our country, her prayer and its unexpected results, seems particularly timely.
Jesus , we trust in You...heal us.

"...I also wanted to share that, as you know, I have not watched any TV now in four years, so I'm logging into my yahoo email last night and am like, "What is this Bill Cosby thing about?" Then I had to read the stories of the women who had been the victims. I could have snapped last night. But,... then I prayed that Jesus shed just a ray of light into that man's heart or allow His Blood and Water to enter his heart.

Amazingly, I FEEL LIKE 30 YEARS OF something is now clear from my brain. I feel like many PTSD things are gone. I am forever grateful for the "tools" MDM has provided me.

I'm grateful on so many levels. I love to imagine the original painting of the Divine Mercy image. I'm working on using imagination when saying the rosary."

CREDIT CARD KIOSK

In response to requests that we make giving to the Mission easier for people who don't carry cash, we have initiated a new credit card kiosk. It is located at the foot of road to the Chapel.
All donations, large or small are appreciated and put to immediate good use!

The Mission depends entirely on donations in order to carry out our ministry. We do not receive financial support from the Archdiocese.
Please pray to see if God wants you to help support His Mission of Divine Mercy.
