Kol Yisrael: Peoplehood, Resilience, & Antisemitism

This 6-session series explores resilience and antisemitism through the lens of Jewish peoplehood and Jewish experience. This course is designed to support students in claiming positive Jewish identity, even while navigating antisemitism, contemporary discourse around Israel, and the nuances of Jewish experiences in the 21st century. Host a Holocaust Survivor for Shabbat

Invite a Holocaust survivor to your home for Shabbat. Enjoy a meal together and spend time with one of our Calgary survivors. Families are responsible for providing transportation to and from their home, as well as for the meal itself. This is an on-going program. Email for more information.

Experience the Wonders of Scientific Discovery

We are looking for aspiring scientists and researchers to apply for the Dr. Bessie F. Lawrence International Summer Science Institute Scholarship. This scholarship provides the opportunity to work with a group of 80 other students fully immersed in scientific research in the labs at the Weizmann Institute of Science. This scholarship is open to high school graduates and first-year university students (aged 18-20) who have a passion for science. You can read more about the fully funded scholarship here.

Chevra Kadisha of Calgary

The Chevra Kadisha of Calgary is looking to fill the position of Shomer Backup. This position entails attendance at the chapel when there is a deceased present. The successful candidate(s) will be backup to the primary Shomer when they are away or unable to provide service. This is an on-call position with irregular hours. Further details of the position including remuneration will be provided upon receipt of a resume or expression of interest. Skill in reading Hebrew is preferred but not a requirement.
