The giv4 climate fund highlights the many local ways to have a positive impact for climate and the environment - such as a nonprofit installing solar panels on affordable housing while training local residents in high-paying solar installation work; and a nonprofit planting tree canopies in Southeast San Diego that lower the temperature in those neighborhoods by several degrees.

JTF To Launch New Cohort
The Jewish Teen Foundation (JTF) launches its 10th cohort starting in the fall semester. We would love your help connecting high schoolers to this important program that ensures we continue to educate future leaders to have a positive impact on the world around them.
JTF is a leadership development program of the Jewish Community Foundation San Diego that teaches philanthropy, Tikkun Olam (repairing the world), and Tzedakah (charity) through a foundation lens. Teens learn grant making, collaboration, public speaking, and constructive discourse skills, while building their own personal networks.
Please share with your friends, children, grandchildren, etc.
The program is open to Jewish 9th-12th graders in San Diego County and will meet in-person once per month during the academic year.
JTF is now accepting applications online.

Sylvia Liwerant introduces the JL Scholarship
Supporting individuals on probation or parole to develop and learn new skills to improve their and their family’s futures.
Sylvia and Jaime (z"l) Liwerant always acknowledged the importance of helping others in need and realized how privileged they were to be able to do so. Jaime and Sylvia immigrated from Mexico City in 1974 with their two sons, Maury and Gery. As a civil engineer, Jaime became a real estate developer in San Diego, and could regularly be found playing golf at San Diego Country Club.
Though he passed away in 2019, Jaime was a loving husband, a great provider for his family, and a very charitable man. Sylvia and Jaime instilled these values in their sons as well. In Jaimes's honor and with a commitment to making this world a better place, Sylvia has established the JL Scholarship to continue their legacy of making an impact in the community.

This unique facility provides a place for homeless individuals to recover effectively from surgery. But without somewhere to convalesce, medical providers will not allow those surgeries to happen in the first place, so the Turk Center literally enables life-saving procedures.
