My favorite movie of all time is “The Wizard of Oz.” There are so many memorable scenes that cause me to break into song. Lately I’ve been hearing Glinda the Good Witch as she sings, “Come out, come out, wherever you are…” The munchkins gingerly approach her to meet the young lady who fell from a star. That’s how these days feel to me.
Cautiously, our vaccinated staff, Board and volunteers are coming back to the JFS office on the Levy Family Campus. Masks come off and huge grins appear. The hugs are the best!
Here's to brains, heart, and courage as we go forward into our next adventure.

Refugee Family Takes Tour of SJSU
Nellie Rochon-Ellis, our Career Counselor, took our recently-arrived refugee client Daniel and his teenage son, Abel, on a tour of SJSU’s campus in June. As Nellie tells us, “It was a very exciting day for both of them as they had not been to the downtown and not seen the campus yet."
"As a former SJSU employee, I was able to show them the campus and provide a history of different buildings and monuments. I showed Abel where the bus and light rail would take him to and from the campus."
