Earlier this week, students from Emek Hahula and Edmonton “met” during our Tu Bishvat Mifgahs. We kicked off the event with a Beautiful Photo Tour of our backyards in Northern Israel and Alberta, giving each community a chance to “visit” the other and get acquainted. During the meeting, our students were center stage, and engaged with enthusiasm in our unusual but effective virtual platform. With 14 teens from Israel and 8 from Edmonton, we chatted, played Kahoot games Try Our Trivia, and had group discussions. We used zoom breakout rooms to give students a chance to interact personally with each other, and there were thoughtful conversations alongside many laughs. We concluded the event by sharing a video showcasing the positive impact of the trees the partnership planted in the Plugot forest in Israel. Students and teachers all received certificates acknowledging their role in this important work! We encourage you to have a Watch Yourself.
