We are experiencing an alarming spike in antisemitism in Canada.
If you don’t act, who will?

Inaction increases the chance that Jewish children will face a future of fear in their neighborhoods, their schools, and community institutions.

You can, you must, do something about it.

Consider this.

In Canada…
Jews pelted with stones on the street in Montreal. Pro-Palestinian “activists” driving through Jewish neighborhoods in Edmonton demanding to know “where the Jews live.” Armed anti-Israel thugs arrested in Cote-Saint Luc. Students at Wilfrid Laurier University posting videos of themselves stabbing the air at an Israeli flag. Jewish businesses defaced in Halifax and targeted across the country. Jewish Canadians harassed relentlessly on social media.

Around the world…
Jews dining in Los Angeles assaulted by Palestinian flag-wavers chanting “Death to Jews!” A man wearing a kippah brutally assaulted in Times Square. Arab youth in vehicles draped in Palestinian flags driving through a Jewish neighborhood in London yelling, “Rape their daughters!” Protestors in Brussels chanting “Jews, remember Khaybar. The army of Muhammad is returning!”

Ask our federal government to convene an emergency summit to address growing antisemitism online and on our streets – for the safety of the Jewish community and for the benefit of all Canadians.
Only by raising our voices together can this scary trend be reversed.

Silence has consequences.

The Jewish community is resilient. We will not be intimidated. And we will not remain silent in the face of rising Jew hatred.

In solidarity,

Joel Reitman Jeffrey Rosenthal
Co-Chairs, CIJA Board
What do we mean by the word "Occupation"? It turns out there are at least 3 different uses of the word, and they all reveal different understandings, attitudes, and end-goals. That's why all the arguments drive you crazy! This workshop pulls no punches about the realities on the ground: it aims to describe the situation, not to fix it: to understand the sides, not to take one.

Edmontonians are anxiously waiting for the special arrival of St. Viateur bagels on Tuesday, June 8. They bought
a record amount of 1,440 dozen (17,280 bagels) in support of a fundraiser for B'nai B'rith Youth Organization in Edmonton. They also bought 292 packages of smoked salmon from Sgambaro's, an Edmonton-based business. This is a record amount of Montreal bagels from St. Viateur to be shipped to Edmonton at one time. They helped raise over $14,000 this year. Last year we set
a record of shipping over 5,000 bagels to Edmonton.
People will be driving through the parking lot of the Jewish Federation of Edmonton offices between 5 and 9 p.m. Our teens will be helping with the contactless pick up of over 525 vehicles. The fresh bagels will be flown overnight by Purolator who donated $10,000 towards the shipping cost. Watch video of one of our teens, Abby Wright, talking about the impact of the fundraiser. Funds raised will be used to reduce the cost of Jewish teen programming.

Vibe Israel
The exhibition is an artistic digital project by Beit HaNasi - The President's Office and Vibe Israel. It is rooted in the President's "Four Tribes" speech, and his flagship program, Israeli Hope. The exhibition shines a light on the strength of the partnerships between the different groups in Israeli society and the Jewish communities abroad (the “Fifth Tribe”) through exceptional and inspirational real-life stories. The exhibition will be featured in the Tel-Aviv Ben Gurion International Airport until the end of 2021.
