MAH JONGG

2ND & 4TH WEDS • 1 - 3 PM

Rincon Valley, Santa Rosa

Beginners and seasoned players are all welcome!

Email friendshipcircle@jccsoco.org for more information!

Last Friday, the JCC SoCo Preschool team - a total of eight educators, had the honor and privilege of attending the KEHILLAH & KAVOD CONFERENCE put on by two AJU graduates and sponsored by EarlyJ. This conference provided our teachers with the opportunity to be in community with fellow Jewish educators to build colleague connections.

We enjoyed the words of keynote speaker Dr. Tamar Andrews, who reminded us that we “help children feel what Judaism feels like” and “are a reflection of the divine.” Our educators strengthened their own relationships through the day, and got to enjoy a Shabbat celebration with over 300 Jewish educators.

Thanks to this experience, our team is excited to bring their learning back with them into the school community.

NOW ENROLLING

Be sure to share with your family and friends before spaces fill up!

UNLEARNING JEWISH ANXIETY - How to Live with More Joy and Suffer Less

THURS, MARCH 26 • 7 PM

Online (via Zoom)

Join Rabbi Dr. Aviv in a book reading and in conversation with Rabbi Irwin

Rabbi Caryn Aviv’s new book, Unlearning Jewish Anxiety: How to Live with More Joy and Suffer Less, addresses the rise in anti-Jewish hatred and the growing anxiety many Jews feel about safety, belonging, and worth. While acknowledging that these fears are understandable, Aviv argues that suffering from them is not inevitable.

The book examines how anti-Jewish contempt shapes everyday habits and trauma responses, and combines neuroscience with Jewish wisdom to help readers recognize and compassionately “unlearn” inherited cultural anxiety patterns. Its aim is to support tikkun atzmi (personal and nervous system healing) as a pathway to tikkun olam (healing the broader world).
