Building a Better World with Books
As part of the responsibilities for his upcoming Bar Mitzvah, Harris Fermaglich's community service project included collecting hundreds of books, three carloads full, which were then donated to the Katz JCC's Sanders Memorial Library, which was established as a result of the Harold Sanders Memorial Library Endowment Fund of The Jewish Community Foundation, Inc.
Fermaglich, who is from Livingston, NJ, donated the books to the JCC in honor of his late grandfather, Harold
Sanders (Harris's grandmother, Marcy Sanders, is a JCC member and founder of the library.) "We were honored to be selected as the recipient of Harris's hard work, and these books will be enjoyed by so many," said JCC librarian Debbie Drachman, who recognized Harris with a Certificate of Recognition for his outstanding community service.

The books will be entered into circulation in the Sanders Memorial Library, and many of the children's books will be distributed throughout the Sari Isdaner Early Childhood Center as well as to various Jewish day schools in the community.

Adath Religious School Principal reflects on 38 years
During four decades as a religious school educator at Adath Emanu-El, Errol Schlesinger has remained close to many of his former students.

They include two rabbis, several synagogue presidents and board members and too-many to count former Willingboro residents who migrated with the congregation to its present Mount Laurel location, choosing to raise their families within the Reform congregation.

"It's nice to see that people you've worked with, that you've had some influence on, have gone on to be involved in synagogue life and to be involved in leadership positions in the synagogue," Schlessinger said.Read More.

Ukraine Relief Fund Update

The Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey condemns, in no uncertain terms, all anti-Semitic acts. The Donetsk flyers and attacks at the Kansas City Jewish Centers serve to remind us that we must be ever vigilant to the threats to, and needs of, our Jewish family around the globe.

In Ukraine, peaceful protests against the government have devolved into a violent international crisis. And Jews throughout the region are caught in the crossfire.

Because of your support, our partner agencies are on the ground. Emergency teams are risking their lives daily delivering food, medicine and home care and ensuring the security of Jewish institutions.

But the crisis is escalating and the money is running out. Donate now to help us support and protect the Jews who live in Ukraine. Click here for more information about how you can support our efforts in Ukraine.

As always, we welcome your thoughts and contributions. Please let us know what more we can do to enhance your Jewish community experience.
