Shirah will perform at Congregation Sons of Israel in Nyack on Sunday, March 8, at 7 p.m.; a kosher dessert buffet will follow the performance.
Shirah was formed in January 1995 with the support of its founding patrons, Bernard and Ruth Weinflash, z”l, as a regional chorus specializing in the performance of the full spectrum of Jewish music. The school is at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades’s Thurnauer School of Music in Tenafly. Its roster includes a multigenerational blend of singers from northern New Jersey, Rockland County, and the New York metropolitan area. Shirah performs at the North American Jewish Choral Festival every year, and it also sings in venues around the tri-state area.
Reservations are required for the performance. The shul is at 300 North Broadway in Upper Nyack. For tickets, or sponsorship opportunities, call the synagogue at (845) 358-3767.
