Why are Jews so defensive? Brooke Goldstein asks. “We should go on the offense, not play defense, and assert our rights,” she said. “We have the right to equal rights under the law, just like every other community.”
She has earned that ferocity.
Local cantors to perform in Montebello

The Montebello Jewish Center presents “Bima to Broadway V.” On that evening, 11 local cantors and an accompanist will perform cantorial, Jewish, and Broadway music. It’s set for Saturday, November 16, at 8 p.m. The shul’s adult, children’s, and teen choirs will perform, and a dessert reception will follow.
RJFS seeks Chanukah gifts

Rockland Jewish Family Service accepting new, unwrapped toys (no toy weapons) and gift cards through November 15. The will be distributed to local families in need for Chanukah. For more information, email Kathryn at ksamalin@rjfs.org .
