Dear KBOO Friends,
Can you believe that KBOO has been producing and airing grass-roots radio for going on 55 years?
Current KBOO Staff and Board of Directors recognize the accomplishments of those who led KBOO before, and are grateful for the roadmaps left to help pave the way for the future of the station.
KBOO wants 2023 to not only be a year of stabilization but also a springboard into its new multi-year plan.
- alternative station management options
- KBOO's facility and equipment
- new fundraising ideas
Can we count on your support as we weave the strategic planning process into 2023?
KBOO will decide how to continue to strengthen its internal systems to live its mission and core values more effectively during this strategic planning process. KBOO will also continue to look for ways to provide even more dynamic programming that serves and engages the community to connect us with the broader world.
Projects of note for the coming year include:
Station Reopening: A plan to fairly reopen the station to volunteers and the public– considering health and safety– are being developed now. Once the work is complete (some updates to the building and workspaces), the community will be welcomed back to the station - to visit, to volunteer and to produce live radio!!
Broadcast Tower: KBOO’s current transmitter has outlived its life expectancy. The new one, developed with the latest technology and includes HD capabilities will be delivered and installed during the winter.
Website Reboot: The current kboo.fm site is full of great information but, like all digital tools, requires regular updating to remain effective. This year, KBOO looks forward to launching a new, modern website.
Donate monthly for long-term strategy success.
The dynamics of KBOO Staff, Volunteers and Board of Directors complement the overall KBOO mission. This cohesiveness directs the day-to-day operations as we also think strategically about sustaining and growing the reach of our work.
Look for KBOO’s new Strategic Plan in 2023! Thank you for reading and thank you for caring. Without your support, our community media station would not get to be independent.
